Believe it or not, PetSummary.com came from a simple idea – helping my aging grandmother cope with all her medical needs. At 90 years old and dealing with diabetes, a pace maker, and ever changing medications, Munner needed a good way to keep things straight. My mom started to write everything down on a card - emergency contact information, doctor's phone numbers, her current medications and dosages, and her major medical conditions. We put a copy of this card on Munner's refrigerator, in her purse, and gave copies to family members who helped care for her.

 

After the card saved Munner's life, we started to do MedSum Cards for all our family members. One of my cousins said, "I need these for Wyatt and Elsa (her boxers). I could barely find my car keys when I had to rush Wyatt to the ER. Something like this would have really helped me out." Working with my veterinarian and a number of our close friends, we built PetSummary.com to help you pet owners to get prepared for the routine and the unexpected. We all travel so much and, a lot of the time, take our four legged family member with us. It seems everyone who cares for our pet needs that "authentic vaccine record", the same one we always have to call the vet to find. Plus, as our pets age, they have more complex dietary and medical needs. However, because they are family, we do whatever we can to help.
